Charitable Activities
The Lone Star Region takes its role as a member of the communities in which its members live seriously, recognizing that our hard work and good fortune as Porsche owners provides us with an opportunity to support these communities.
From time to time the Lone Star Region holds special events to raise funds for charity. Members are encouraged to propose these events to the LSR Board, and to organize and conduct approved events. The Lone Star Region may subsidize expenses for these events to insure that all funds raised go to the charity. Currently our touring events are being structured as charity events with a nominal, voluntary contribution solicited from participants. More details will be posted on the News page.
In addition to these special events, charitable contributions may be requested at regular LSR events such as Concours and DE's. In such cases, the charity to which the funds will be donated will be identified, and all contributions are entirely voluntary.

Our Charities
The Lone Star Region is currently supporting Magnificat Houses Inc. in Houston, Texas. Magnificat Houses, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) faith based, non-profit, charitable organization chartered by the State of Texas in 1968. Magnificat Houses, Inc. offers refuge and hope to the destitute by creating homes where people of different mental abilities, social backgrounds, religions and cultures can live together in community. Magnificat provides a bridge back to the outside world and the confidence to cross it.
Contributions are tax deductible.
The Club 50th Anniversary Gala served to highlight the LSR commitment to its charity, the Magnificat Houses. The charity team wishes to acknowledge and sincerely thank the LSR Webmaster Jim Heimer, Jeri Platt, and others who participated in ensuring success. We also want to thank Ron Baklarz, who donated the Hurley Haywood Signed Shirt and William Wong, who donated the Houston Aeros Signed Jersey.

Art Sale
Five paintings by Artist and Porsche owner Andrew Dennis displayed at the 56th Annual Porsche Parade in Savannah are offered for sale with all proceeds to go to a Lone Star Region charity. These paintings were donated to the Lone Star Region by Mr. Dennis, a former advertising executive with a major cosmetic firm and ad agencies. His paintings are currently exhibited and sold in art galleries and corporate spaces, primarily in Monmouth County, New Jersey.
There are five paintings being offered, four of which are available individually or as a the four panel montage shown below.

Charity Tours
The Lone Star Region has initiated a “charity tour” activity, in which each participating car is requested to make a donation of $25 to support a Lone Star Region charity, when they participate in one of our charity touring events. For information about touring events, click here.
| The next charity tour will be on February 26th to Karls on the Riverbend, 5011 FM 723 in Richmond, for Sunday Brunch. The cost will be $18.95 per person (beverages extra); a $25 donation per car is appreciated. Information on the meeting place, departure time and scenic route to Karl’s will follow shortly. There will be a raffle for two nights with breakfast at the Holiday Inn Resort Galveston-on the Beach with 3 raffle tickets for $10 OR 10 raffle tickets for $20. Our last touring event was a charity drive to the Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort and Spa in Lost Pines, Texas on Sunday, August 21st. A charitable contribution of $25 per car was requested, with the funds to be donated to charity by LSR. Each participant paid for their own lunch at the Hyatt Resort Major Neighbors Golf Club restaurant overlooking the golf course.
The group of 35 Region members in 20 Porsches met at the Starbucks in Spring Valley, 8420 I-10at 9:30 am and followed‘less traveled straight and winding roads’ including both Buescher and Bastrop State Parks, which are connected by a 12-mile drive through the Lost Pines of East Central Texas. All entrants received prizes - freebies from Annual Porsche Parade in Savannah.
