PERFORMANCE DRIVING SCHOOL

If you are new to the world of Porsche or an experienced driver but unsure of your vehicle's capabilities and your ability to control and enjoy it, the Lone Star Region offers its Performance Driving School. The instructional activity provides you with survivability skills that apply both to everyday driving and the track environment. We want you to be comfortable and enjoy your vehicle, no matter what situation arises.
Performance Driving is a fun filled and exciting car control clinic. It is one of the few LSR activities open to licensed drivers below the age of 18, and it can be an excellent activity for a parent and a new driver. Participants will be paired with a group of experienced instructors, who will lead you through a day of thrilling discovery in a parking-lot course. This is not a racing school. This event teaches you the skills and techniques necessary to properly control your high performance sports car or every-day driver. You will have fun while learning to be a safer and more competent driver.
Course Content
The one day school includes a combination of classroom instruction and individual behind-the-wheel clinics. Food and drinks are provided. Participants will also receive an event t-shirt.
The one day of the skill clinic usually includes:
- Wet Skid Pad
- Decreasing Radius / Figure 8
- Accident Avoidance
- Apex Drill
- Slalom
On Sunday following the PDS, there may be an autocross or practice event. This gives both novices and veteran drivers a fun course to play on and confidence to participate in our other track events. These are separate events that require registration on clubregistration.net.
PDS is not a prerequisite to either Drivers Education or Autocross.
