Lone Star Region Tech Q&A
Porsche owners,
unlike many people who own "regular" cars, have a very high
interest in how their cars work and how to keep them operating at their
optimum level. For this reason, we are providing a place for LSR members (and others) to ask questions and get answers from our local "experts" in the Lone Star Region.
Technical Questions and Answers

If you would like to ask a question . . .
For
those of you with detailed technical questions, LSR suggests you log
on to
the PCA web site Tech
Section. There, after you log on, you can search
a large database by related models or by components within related models
like engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical, etc., or in general categories
like interior / exterior.
If you can't find your answer in the PCA database
(and you are logged on as a PCA member), you can also ask your specific question
of the appropriate PCA
Tech Expert.
Many
times, however, you are interested in acquiring some local knowledge
that is not in the PCA database, like:
- Where
should I go in the Houston area to buy tires?
- Who can dress
my scratched up alloy wheels?
- Can someone
locally do a mechanical inspection of a Porsche I am interested in buying?
For these types
of questions, please send an e-mail to the webmaster with
your question. It will be distributed to a "panel of experts" in
LSR, and you will get a direct reply. You can also, of course, ask more detailed,
general questions using this method, and LSR will respond to the best of
our ability (which is pretty good, given the long experience and expertise
of some of our members).
Another option is to go to our LSR
Yahoo Group and ask a question of the group members. Relevant Q&A's
from the Yahoo Group have been posted on our Tech
Q&A page.
If you would like
to join the "Panel of Experts," contact the webmaster to be added to the list.
